I have tried washing the brush twice and every time, the hairs on the sides of the brush stick out.

After washing the brush, pat with a towel to remove moisture and then lay flat on the towel to air dry. You may need to reshape the brush's bristles and check that no bristles are sticking out once the brush is laid down.

Wash the Chisel Brush once a week using either of our Mineral Washes or a mild non-conditioning shampoo. Oily skins may need to clean brushes more often. Fill a basin with lukewarm water and a little cleanser and swish the brush in the water. Rinse with lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Pat with a towel to absorb extra moisture and lay flat on the towel to dry. To keep brushes fresh between regular cleanings, use Sweep It Off Brush Cleaner (http://www.purminerals.com/Sweep-It-Off-Brush-Cleaner).

Question
Brushes and cruelty-free claim
I understand that pur minerals line of brushes are cruelty-free and are made from sable, goat, and pony hair. I am wondering if you have any info on how the hairs are collected from the animals - I'm assuming that the cruelty-free claim means that the animals are not harmed or killed, can you please confirm.
Thanks so much!

Cruelty-free means that no animals are harmed or killed. We have statements on file from our suppliers verifying that the brushes are cruelty-free.

Question
Do I need to buy each brush? Or is there a brush that is multi-purpose? I don't want to spend too much money on eleven different brushes.

The Pur-fect Makeup Brush Collection is a great value. Although our Chisel Brush is designed to provide maximum coverage, the Powder Brush in the collection can be used to apply the 4-in-1 Foundation with lighter coverage. The Utility Brush is designed for areas that need extra coverage plus it can be used to apply shadow in the crease of the eye. The Blush Brush can also be used to blend eye shadow after application. There are no set rules, use the brushes in the manner that works best for you.
